Homes and Family

Over 80 orphaned or abandoned children have become part of the Hope Village family since 2005.

Our children are raised in family homes, with a variety of ages growing up together under the loving care of their house parents. The homes are built with family rooms where they spend time together as well as, spaces for homework, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Family life includes meals together, sharing household responsibilities, spending time to encourage children to flourish as well as daily prayer and worship.

Samuel, Karratha, Destiny 1 & Destiny 2 Houses are located within Hope Village.  These are family homes - where the children are cared for individually in practical ways such as nutritious food, clean water, medical care and where they develop healthy relationships that encourage them to flourish.

At the start of each morning you can hear the voices of the children and their house parents as they read, sing and chatter together as they prepare for the new day. Like most families, each house consists of children of different age groups, from toddlers to teenagers.

The children all contribute to the daily running of their house. Whether it's sweeping the floor, wiping down a table, washing their own dish or helping with the laundry - everyone helps in a way that's appropriate to their age.

All of the houses gather to share their meals together in the main kitchen. At the end of the day they gather for family worship, and sometimes the children surprise each other with a new song or dance performance.

The houses each have a family room, homework area, bedrooms and bathroom facilities. They are surrounded by lush gardens and play areas where there is always someone to play with or ask for help when needed.
