Our head carers became aware of Roy, that he had no family (other than these cousins), no job and no where to live. They offered him a place to live, a way to earn a meagre living and started to build relationship with him. Roy started to attend evening devotions at Hope Village, hearing the Gospel and seeing how those around him were following Jesus. Roy learnt about building trust, having a good work ethic and consistent character. Eventually Roy came on staff at Hope Village working on the maintenance team.
Lena came to Hope Village to serve for 3 months as a youth intern. She was an orphan in her late teens, attending bible college and asked for a job so that she could earn enough money to pay for her course. Lena loved to work with our preschoolers, forming close bonds with them and learning how to provide the daily care they required
A few years have passed, Roy and Lena are now married. Although they both arrived having no family or place to call their own they are now an important part of Hope Village as house parents providing love and care for others.
